Carbs are the enemy!

So yes, I am going to try for the New Years goals this year...

1- lose weight

2-don't eat as many carbs...yes, because they are the enemy!

3-get out of debt....or at least don't add to the debt!

4-Get my son to write his name....without help.

5-exercise....OK, kinda of goes with number 1

6-clean out the garage. I do believe it is a two car garage...I have yet to see that!

Alright there it is. My New Years goals....We will see how it goes :-)

Happy New Year!!

Thing 2 new view on Santa

"Mom I don't like Santa!"

This happened yesterday.

"Mom, personally I think I should go and buy my Christmas gifts and you wrap them and put them under the tree."

Again he says

"Mom!!! PERSONALLY I DON'T LIKE SANTA!!"
(it was a little louder that time)

I don't know what happen, but I cant talk thing 2 to accept any presents from Santa. He only wants gifts from me under the tree on Christmas morning. This is going to be a ruff Christmas for gifts I think.

Santa!

Thing 1 has been bugging me about going and seeing Santa. He is the only one that would want to see him in real life. Well any how we saw him. Thing 1 was second in line and was soooo happy to see him. He sat on his lap and Santa asked him if he as been good. Thing 1 didn't reply. Then Santa asked what he wanted for Christmas. Thing 1 asked for a Robot. He has wanted a Robot for like six months. Santa said he would see what he could do.

Of course my little scientist now needs to analyse everything Santa said to him.

"Mom, why did Santa ask if I was good this year? Wouldn't he already know that?"

I was laughing a little inside "Thing 1 he was just trying to see if you would lie or not." a moment of silence.

"Mom, how is Santa going to get all the toys done in time if he is seeing kids right now?"
"Well,,He has his elf's make them."

"Mom, Why did Santa ask what I wanted for Christmas? Doest he have a magic snow ball that tells him?"

(I have no idea where the magic snow ball came from) "Thing 1 I think he just wants to make sure he is getting you the right present."

"Mom, how does Santa get the reindeer to fly?"

My reply "Santa Magic"

"Oooohhh! That must be how it works. I get it mom."

So I am thinking well that was easy enough. (of course it wasn't)
So now I am just always saying it is because of "Santa Magic"
I don't know how long this will last. I wish he would just take my word for it.

Meanwhile my Thing 2 just wants to write Santa a letter and he doesn't even care where the toys come from. Or who makes them. He just wants them. He just wants to make sure Santa gets the right gifts for him he doesnt care about "Santa Magic" one bit.

It is so weird how I can have two boys at the same time and have them be so different. :-)

Boogy is walking!

OK well, I think the title pretty much covered it. My little Boogy is mobile! This is the time when everything in my house is either moved or breaks :-)
I have to say though she is the cutest little walker!! Her momma is so proud!!

Autism Walk

I am getting so excited and a little nervous for the Autism walk. I am the Volunteer Chair once again. This time however I decided not to be pregnant and well I'm feeling better about that decision. But getting a little nervous. I was soooo lucky last year to get a ton of amazing teenagers to help. It was so great and worked out so well I am just hoping I can pull it off again! I think it will. I always manage to get my goals accomplished (except for the losing weight one) so I know it will work out great!
I am just getting a little nervous :-)

"Personally I dont think so"

Thing 2 has a new phobia. Me and the fam went to a pre-thanksgiving party. A group of our friends have this party every year. It is really fun! My poor hubby never gets to go to the real deal because of work. So, this party is really great for him to have a little turkey and yummyness.
A lady at the party made these little black olive penguins with carrots and cream cheese. Thing 2 loved them. He grab a bunch of them and was playing with them. I thought great he will eat something will a little color. I asked him if he was going to eat them. "Personally mom, I don't eat things that are pointy" See the cute little penguin has a tooth pick to hold the body together. I took the tooth pick out and said "look no more pointy!" Well he wouldn't eat it because it lost its little body.
New phobia = no eating pointy food :-)
I have to agree with him on this one though those penguins sure were cute!

Daniel Pictures, Images and Photos Look below and see if my son Thing 1 looks like James Bond..

James Bond

I have the Young James Bond living at my house! I have had several people tell me Thing 1 looks like the New James Bond....What do you think?

Here is Boogy's first hair-do! I know pretty lame :-) but I am really trying. It is really hard to get my fat fingers to work with such cute little hairs. Any advice would be appreciated!
And yes she doesn't have any sheets on her bed for the picture. We had a little accident and they were in the wash :-)

Hair

Today was the day to try to make Boogy's hair look cute. I always see cute little girls with ribbons and bows in their hair. I want to do that for Boogy. My mom never did my hair. It was always cut really short or grown really long with no cute hair style. I think I owned one bow when I was little and I would wear it all of the time.
So anyways I tried a ponytail with a bow. Nothing crazy just something cute that says my mom cares how I look.
Again a disaster! Fighting and wiggling and jumping. I finally got the hair-do done and it looks OK. Not very neat. I ended up grabbing a big lump of hair and putting a rubber band on it and sticking the bow on.
She is beautiful no matter what. I just don't want her to look back and think her mom doesn't care.

Nail polish

So I am not really the most girlie of moms. I don't do my hair really fancy. I don't put on alot of makeup and I really don't wear expensive clothes. I am pretty ordinary. But I thought it would be a good idea to polish my babies nails. I see babies all of the time with cute little red or pink finger nails. So I loaded up the kids went to Target and bought one cute red polish and one cute purple polish. I sat my Boogy on my knee at home and attempted to polish her nails.
WHAT A DISASTER!! She wiggled and yelled and punched. If she knew how to bite she would have don't that to. How do mothers polish their daughters nails. I had polish everywhere. I had it on me and on her, it was on her face and her arms. I don't think I am going to try that again. Or I might wait until she is sleeping.

I do however need to learn how to do her hair. We will see how that goes. :-)

What a Gross Morning!!

So I am sleeping very well this morning. I woke up around 7am and I thought my Boogy was being very, very quiet. But I was enjoying her sleeping in. That doesn't happen, and I wanted to sleep in. I was being a little greedy. Well 7:30 rolls around and I thought I better check on my little princess. She is very reliable with her wake up time and she was now an hour late. This is when the horror happened (Yes she was breathing it wasn't that horrible) I open the door and this awful smell hits me. I approach slowly, very slowly.
Flash back to last night: I thought it would be a good idea to let Boogy sleep in just her diaper. She is always sweaty in the morning. Her room is the hottest room in the house and well I thought she would sleep better in just her diaper.
Flash back to this morning: While I was approaching her crib I see a beautiful little girl covered in POOP! Poop was everywhere. It was in her hair on her blanket and all over her sheets. There was a POOP decoration on the wall. While I was trying to fight the need to throw up. I did admire the art on the wall. She is only 11 months and she did a good job. Oh, it was so gross!! I ran to the tub and started to warm up some water. I scrubbed her down, scrubbed the crib and scrubbed the wall. I washed all her bedding.
Oh, again it was so gross!! And the really bad thing is I remember this happening with Thing 1 and Thing 2 you would think I would have learned my lesson with them. Sleeping in just a diaper isn't a good idea ever!!
All is well and clean now.....

Home body

Thing 2 has decided he doesn't want to go anywhere. He only likes to stay home. He is always trying to get out of Kindergarten (yes,he is only five) He claims he has hiccups, tummy ache, Head ache, and a bad case of ichies. He always says "Mom, I to sick! Personally, I think I need to stay home with you cause I am to sick." I always manage to get him on the bus.

But lately I am having a problem getting him to go to Grandma's house. Grandma does everything right. She makes him pancakes (his favorite) She has a car mat for him to play with. She has a fun back yard, where he can play all day if he wants. She has video games and he gets lots and lots of loves. But he will fight me to go over their and when we are coming home he always says "Mom, Personally I think this will be the last time I go to Grandma's house!" What to do? My little man is becoming a Home body!

?

Why can't cookie dough be a diet food? Why does eating to much cookie dough always gives me a tummy ache, yet I always eat to much? Why did I buy cookie dough in the first place? Why when I bought the cookie dough I bought the biggest one ever sold at Costco?
Again I ask Why isn't cookie dough a diet food? :-)

Where is my camera?

So I was so excited to be adding pictures to my blog then some thing terrible happen. My camera has gone missing. I love my camera!! I have had this wonderful camera for 3 years and it does a great job. I posted my pictures and then the camera vanished. I am pretty sure I had a future little artist that might have borrowed it. He likes to create some neat looking pictures that I would be happy to post. (but he wont admit to anything) I can't find the darn thing. So until I find my camera I might be in a photo depression for a while. I miss my camera :-(

Halloween

Halloween was a lot of fun. Thing 1 was superman and Thing 2 was Spiderman. My Little Boogy was a cute little bee. I forgot to bring her wings to the party so she was a cute bee without wings. We went to my half sisters house and the kids trick or treated around her neighborhood. It was so cute Thing 1 said this is the best holiday ever. I think he might say the same thing in December with Christmas.

I thought I would share a picture of my Thing 2 having a melt down. It doesn't happen very often only when I don't do exactly what he wants. :-)

Here is the fine art work done in marker by my little Thing 1....And it is on the driveway of my neighbors house. Isn't that just wonderful :-)
Posted by Picasa

Any idea how to remove marker from concrete?

So if anyone every reads this blog I need help. My little artist Thing 1 decided to draw Sponge Bob and Patrick on my neighbors drive way. He used dry eraser marker. How in the world do I get that off of concrete? I really don't think my neighbors like his art. I will be taking a picture before I remove it so I can showcase his work :-) He really did a good job...just bad placement!

So my sweet little thing 2 (featured above) started to say "personally" here is an example. "Mom, you have a red car but Personally I think you should get a purple van." He has never really voiced a opinion about a lot of things. It is soooo cute!!! He adds personally to everything and I am just loving it. He is such a little sweet heart.
And yes that is a University of Utah t-shirt. Go Utes!! :-)

As for Thing one...

I have noticed I have not blogged about Thing one. He is doing great in Kindergarten! He is having a tuff time with getting tested. The teacher tells me he doesn't know the sounds the letters make. But when I test him at home he gets everyone except for the tuff ones. I have decided he is like his mom and doesn't care to do well on test at school. :-)

I remember when I was in Elementary school I was told the SAT's didn't affect my grade (I think that test was called the SAT I really don't remember). So I would never read through them I would just make a design with the little holes you fill in. Well the teachers were always taking my mom to the side and telling her how dumb I was. I never seemed to do well at the SAT's. Maybe the should of told me these test will affect the rest of my school life and I really need to do a good job instead of just filling in the holes randomly :-)

Thing one is a wonderful Artist. He always makes great pictures and fun books. The doctor said he is very artistic. I would love to get him in a private school that focused on Art. To bad I am poor :-(
I just do my best to help him create fun pictures and mold moon sand. Hopefully he will continue his love for Art just like his dad.

Autism.....

Sometimes my thing two is diagnosed with Autism and sometimes he isn't. The doctor is a little confused I think :-)
Sometimes he qualifies for services through the school system and when he gets caught up he doesn't qualify anymore. Why do you need a label to get the services your child needs? My sweet little Thing just needs a little extra help. He needs a little bit of patience and understanding. Why aren't teachers better trained to handle children on the spectrum of Autism. It is affecting more and more children everyday and I have come to realize that the schools don't care to address this problem. WHY? Autistic children are smart and capable of learning just like other children they just learn differently. No matter how hard you push they will not learn the way you want. They only learn the way they can. You have to be able to judge each child as a unique case and work with their strengths and weakness. But then again all children should be taught that way!! Sometimes I just get so frustrated I hope first grade goes a little better then Kindergarten!!

Today is the day..

So I am really trying to lose weight. Not really doing such a a great job at it. I have been exercising like crazy and ended up hurting my knee. So now I really need to focus on eating healthy and not exercising so much. I hate eating healthy, that is the reason I have the weight problem. So today was my first day of really trying to eat healthy. Today went OK I just hope tomorrow goes better. Where is my magic pill? And why doesn't cleaning burn more calories?Blah! I hate fat!!!

The flu is almost over!!

Thing 2 is still a little confused about his stomach flu. He keeps asking if it is OK to drink milk. I have to tell him every time "yes, you are OK to drink milk if your tummy isn't feeling icky."
When he was really sick with the flu I ended up having to take him to the PCMC for some extra help in getting him re hydrated. He was such a trooper. He told the doctor his shoulder hurt and he had a bad case of the hiccups. (again he has a hard time with communication sometimes) He said this right after I was done telling the doctor he couldn't keep anything down and was really moaning about his tummy. Tummy, throw up its about the same as shoulder and hiccups :-)

My little Boogy decided to get the flu too. She is soooo crabby! I think this might be the first sickness for the little Boogy. She has been so miserable but has been a trooper like her brother. She has been feeling better and I don't think she will have to make a trip to the children's hospital like her big brother.

I really, really hope my Think 1 doesn't get this awful flu....and for that matter I hope I don't get it. My sick time at work is almost out.

I hate stomach flu

I wish I could keep the stomach flu away from my house. I use the wipes to wash the doors down. I mop and clean the bathrooms all of the time. But for some reason the flu is back. My little thing 2 has it bad. He is on the Autism Spectrum and well has a hard time with communication. So I am having a hard time telling when it is time to run to the toilet or get a bowl. As far as he is concerned he just has the itches and a bad case of hiccups. (he gets a little mixed up about the different illness he has had) He also has a hard time understanding why chocolate milk isn't a good idea right now. My poor washer has been going none stop since yesterday washing bedding and towels from this awful sickness. I hate stomach flu!!!

Feeling Blue

I knew the anniversary of my dads death was the beginning of October. I just don't like to think about it. I don't visit his grave site. I try not to think about the day at the hospital and the pain I had to live through. The pain I saw my mom go through. She was so happy most the time when my dad was alive. Only when it came to finances did she and my dad fight. She loved him so much. When he was gone she was gone for a while. We lost our house. She filled for bankruptcy. We lived off of Social Security.
My dad was my strength as a child he held me up. When I hurt myself falling he would be the first one to pick me up and rescue me. He always had a weird spray to put on my scratches and then a band aid that made it feel so much better. When I would get teased at school he would tell me how jealous those mean girls are of such a wonderful person I was. He never wanted me to worry and he never wanted me to cry. I loved him so much.
His health started to fail. He had a stroke. It was awful he didn't know what was going wrong with him. He couldn't handle light and he couldn't keep his balance. He was so sick he would yell at all of us all of the time. I knew he was in pain. He went to a hospital and recovered. It was amazing. He was almost back to his regular self.

A while later we had went to our family cabin for a nice weekend together. He had told us that he wished he could spend the rest of his life there. Then he started to get sick again. He was losing his balance again. His face changed he wasn't my loving dad anymore he was really in pain and had to lay down. My mom didn't know that it was a stroke again. We hurried home and I had my last dinner with my dad. It was mac and cheese with corn on the cob. It was really good. My dad was still acting a little strange but I didn't think a hole lot about it. I was only eleven years old. I went down stairs to watch a movie. I had a weird erg to go upstairs but decided to stay down stairs anyways. A little while later my mom called down to me to come upstairs. I did, I made eye contact with my dad being pushed by the paramedics going out the door. I ran to the door and saw several fire engines in my circle. It was terrifying. My mom took off with someone maybe a neighbor I really don't remember. Another neighbor said I was going over to her house. She was nice we made cookies. I didn't know what was going on. I was so scared. Some how someone ended up taking me to the hospital. I saw my dad he was talking and didn't look so bad to me. He just look like before when he had his first stroke. Sick but not to bad. He told us he loved us and that we needed to pick up his shoes he left down stairs. (weird things I remember) My mom took us home and put my brother and I to bed.

Later that night my mom got a phone call. I heard her answer the phone and start crying. I had never heard my mom cry so hard. I knew something terrible had happen I was to scared to leave my bed. Someone I cant remember who came over and my mom left. Later I went to the hospital again. only my dad wasn't awake anymore he was a sleep with a scary machine doing his breathing. He had gotten worse during the night and had to be put on the machine to stay alive. There was no chance for recovery. Sitting there looking at my wonderful dad pale and with no emotion was awful. I knew that everything was going to be different. I knew my family wasn't going to be as happy as it once was. I knew my childhood was going to be over.

When my mom decided to take the machine off and let him die I was in the hallway with some family. I felt the world coming down on me and I had a hard time breathing. I felt like I was dying.
My dad would never get to see me grow up. He never got to meet my wonderful children and see what a great guy I married.
17 years I have lived without my dad. He has been gone longer then I knew him. But he still is in my heart and I still love him very much.
Because of his death I got to know my mom. I was a daddies girl before he died. I didn't care to know my mom before my dad died. That was the only real blessing of my dad dying.
My mom was amazing. Even with all she went through with my dads death. She always held her head up. Yes she was sad and she had a really hard time with depression. She died very poor. But I got to know her. She was amazing. She was my rock. She was the best example of how to handle adversity I had ever met. Today I miss my dad, I miss my childhood. But I am so glad my mom was there to be my strength as an adult and to let me lean on her before she had to go. Now I am able to stand strong. I hope I will be able to make my children as strong with out all the pain.

But even though I feel strong I still feel blue. I miss my parents. I love my parents...

I am not a blogger

No I am not a blogger, but I love reading other peoples blogs. So I am going to give this a try every once and a while.
Here is a little info about me and my family.
I have a cute family
One handsome husband
Twin five year old boys
One little 9 month old baby girl.
Two dogs, one is a Beagle mutt and the other one is a wiener dog.
One dumb cat...
One small fish.

I live in a cute house and drive a cute SUV.

That is pretty much it for now...
